I play as a warrior but I dont play hardcore atm. I dont want to waste my time with a toon that is going to be wiped.

Everytime I see Aion, I think I should go play that. Especially since my old L2 friends all go play Aion when it goes live, or already doing beta. But on the other hand, it's all grind grind again and it's kinda unbalanced. And, since it's a NCSoft game, summoners got fucked already according to my friend.

I wanted to try it out a few months ago, when Aion was "supposed" to go live. So I got informed as much as I could about the game and the Nc-Aion-GM Team. They pretty much spread happy thoughts, that Aion will have an active team ingame to support the players and keep the game clean from bots bla bla...... and then Open beta came out filled with bots. No tx, at least i can pk in L2.
Quest based? Honestly, i only played a few months of WoW and I'm sick of questing. I'd rather kill 1k mobs for 10% while I stay relaxed, speaking on vent and flamming Jannu on the clan chat.
And the control, i didn't quite understood it. You can click to move[like in L2] or u can use W-A-S-D for movement but if u press a skill, the character automaticly turns around to hit the target? If I got it right, I have a bad feeling for the playstyle of some classes like the rogue.

The only point that Aion is already full of bots make me sick and indeed in L2 we can pk them all if we log in a bad mood :mad:

i have enough bots in l2, the only thing will be, is there will be opened a x99999 Aion private server, i gotta go there see the territories, accessories and stuff... but to play there, ty.

i played it all weekend.. spent way too much time customizing my chanter looks :P, as for the quests though its more of the same kill x mobs get x reward but I dont mind it. Not as many varied classes/races as in L2, but so far I'm happy with it the game... just wish they'd keep beta open longer! :(

Genosha: yes the summoners are still fucked, speciallyin fly areas like the abyss rangers will try keep the max range t not get affected by your skill that cancel fly and your summon don't fly (yet), on the ground you're one of the most avoided class on 1x1. On the grind side i can't really compare it with l2, it's more like wow... For a grinder like me (and any of you l2 players) it's easy like hell, i flew trought lvls on the closed beta (played like 5 hours max and of the 20 avaliable lvls i have an Elyos 17 and an Asmodian 10 - those are the one's i tried more i have other 3 chars around 8-10.

Ark4i: Yes you can use mouse click, but for real aion movements are fast like wow, so w-a-s-d is a lot better way to control your char there (actually i disabled the mouse click option and puted the turn camera on the right button, it's better for this type of movement). On the quest i don't mind grind, but the quests direct it better, and l2 also has the kill x mobs quests. On the open beta (eu/us) i didn't found an bot yet, that doesn't mean they aren't there... The problems with rangers are more related to the skills motions tehn with the target system, Yes you auto target who attack you but it only goes for the first attacker it don't change trougt targets unless a tank pull your attention, but don't worry every class has a combo to drop you down and take out your target of anything, this is a pvp game you know ;)

Fore everyone the bot problem i hope will be as combated as we are seeing it being in Lineage 2 lately (actually it's because of Aion that things changed a little in L2).

yes there are class balance problems, but what mmo don't have them? Even Lineage 2 and wow suffer of them after all this time on the market, it's allways an ongoing thing, but there is no win class in Aion (don't think sorcerer is, it's not you can die to every single class in aion if you play it wrong, class has basically no defense).

Sry but I didn't understood u here.
I wasn't talking about auto-targeting. Lemme put it this way:
An elyos and an asmodian standing back to back. The elyos has the asmodian targeted. The elyos presses f1-f10 and the char automaticly turns around and kills the asmodian. If this is the case, I don't see the point in the w-a-s-d movement.

it's not like jumping or moving will help you evade skills or stuff. yes, maybe a little bit harder to target, but with auto target back it's pretty much useless. for kike mouse is more then enough :)

The wsad movement is there because of the flying stuff in aion. It is a bitch to fly with point and click.

Indeed, like we found out in L2 when the keyboard controlling was buggy (or still is?)

I mostly made a mix, wasd for quick changes in movement and combat, mouse clicks for long runs.
And with those jumps you don't any longer stand in front of a little stone and think....."I'm a fearceful Stormscreamer....I am able to control the Elements almost upm to the worlds movement....and I#m not able to make just 1 step over these cute stone...o0" :D
