Ncsoft sold the license of L2 to russian "4games" brand, and now russian free servers are in progress of creating :O

i know there will be an official free server russian (localised by Innova) with slightly bigger rates (around x3-x4) and in-game shop for rl money that "will not change the balance of the game"... also, "there will be no bots" and no "2 or more windows opened on same computer"

well, i heared it from russian players. and on russian forums. the closed beta has already passed and as i know the servers are live. i tried to register tehre but the site said that the registering is temporarly closed due to too big popularity and server oressure.

Mail.ru is one of the biggest email scammer sites out there, they're on everyones shit list. How the hell they convinced NC they were legit is beyond me. As for the 'no bots' thing, i'd love to see them try. Sure they have some nice snazy new prevention thing, but give the botters a week and they'll have broken it.

Free 2 Play is a very risky business, and lineage 2 dosent have the pull it needs to succeed. The grind is mindless and a lot of the time tedius, given the number of other F2P games out there that are better looking graphics wise, and less stressfull, and F2P version of L2 is going to have a hard run task.

Reading through it (google is your friend lol), i can't see a premium shop styled game working, people are cottening on to the fact that F2P games aren't really all that free. You just need to look at 2Moon and 9Dragons to understand it.

2Moons you easily need to spend around the 20-30 a month to maintain a decent xp count, and 9Dragons has the entire top quarter of your screen covered in annoying as hell flashing ads. Unless of course you buy a premium package, wich again can set you back around the 20 a month. (I played both games since beta, and have watched them both grow and fail lol). When you look at that, it kinda puts the little monthly fee for L2 into perspective.

sorry not going to happen hehe. These servers have the highest customer count, and so long as that remains the case the bots will remain, to much cash in it for them to leave.

But, any project being run with mail.ru is doomed to failure imo, and shame on NC for supporting the scammers.

Well dunno, I am not russian but I have a couple of russian friends from server I was playing before official and they told me they all are going to play on this F2P Russ server ...

Most peoples eyes light up when you say free, if you can get something for free, why pay?

The problems will start to come after a while when they need to buy certain things that are only available in the premium shop. I can see stuff like blessed SOE's, Res's and stuff like that being in there. Heal potions and stuff. Having played my fill of f2p games im immune to their temptations these days.

At least NC are open and upfron about why it's better to have a membership for their f2p game

Also, i can't see many people abandoning their high lvl toons tbh. Giving up their lvl 70's and billions to go back to lvl 1 and broke. I think people may be tempted to try it at first, but i also think they'll be back

i mean, saying that it gonna fail so easily... f2p game in russia is not gonna fail UNTIL the server fails. i mean, if u can play there for free, ppl will play. what other f2p game u suggest? being decent and worked out as lineage? (worked out... yea lol, but anyways)

i mean, there is a TON of players (russian/greek/etc) that are playing on "curved" l2j servers or other pirate servers that dream that their homu will get acumen (lol i remember that when we had c1 server + c3 textures, no tatoos, just 15% of sa's worked, not telling about absence of a/s grade... )... same atm, ppl dream to play a dam kamael and to question why it has only one wing. believe me, in a far-away city where there is practically nothing to do, u're rich enough to buy a comp+internet access or u just spend lunch time on 1-2 hrs in internet cafe, and u see all those ppl running around you and stuff, u're done.

ps. lol i remember i played MuEmpire... lol game, 2d, no objectives at all, and we didn't even realized that it was actually a private server, well we did, but we ddin't know taht the retail was absolutely different... the game itself had no point at all, even no pvp (well u have 3 classes that's it, no actual reasons for pvp) and yet there were 40k accounts registered... in a country with 4kk ppl... (not to mention that player were mostly from regional cities (no net further) and mostly aged 14-30//40) if to take assumption that rural/urban ratio is 50/50 and youth to other categories is 1/3, then it's a 6%... 6% from every kid/teenager in the country had an account on a lol private server.

or atm at moldavian lineage server there are 64834 accaunts registered. but, in mu, unlike in lineage, i din't need to create additional accounts. (at least it wasn't crucial)
